According to the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), the latest data shows a substantial 1.4 percentage point fall from the 9.4% recorded in September. This represents a sharp improvement from the peak 23.8% rate recorded in December 2024, underscoring the success of continued monetary and fiscal stabilisation measures.

Speaking at a press briefing in Accra, Government Statistician, Dr. Iddrisu Alhassan, highlighted the achievement. “For the first time since June 2021, Ghana has achieved single-digit inflation. This means that the rate at which prices of goods and services are increasing has slowed significantly,” Dr. Alhassan noted.

He attributed the sustained decline to the impact of consistent policies aimed at stabilizing prices and strengthening the economy.

We’ve seen improvements across food, transport, and housing categories key indicators of household welfare.” Dr. Alhassan also noted that the food component remains the largest contributor to the overall inflation basket.
