The Ga Ayekoo Jweremor Awards, under the leadership of Nii Addotey Brown, has thrown its support behind the annual football match held in memory of celebrated Ghanaian football icon, Shamo Quaye.
The initiative aligns with the group’s broader mission to recognize and celebrate GaDangme personalities whose contributions have advanced both the GaDangme community and Ghana as a whole.
More than 28 years after his passing, Shamo Quaye’s legacy remains deeply revered. The talented footballer, who hailed from Tema and rose to prominence with Accra Hearts of Oak, left an enduring mark on Ghana’s football history through his exceptional skill and passion for the game.
According to the organizers, it is this lasting impact that inspired the Ga Ayekoo Jweremor Awards to support the memorial event and honour the late Shamo Quaye for his remarkable contributions to sports and national pride.
