The Black Stars were drawn into Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama during the official 2026 FIFA World Cup draw, held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

Ghana, ranked 72nd in the world, will open their campaign against 30th-ranked Panama, before facing off with England and Croatia, who are both ranked fourth and 10th, respectively.
Per the official schedule released by FIFA on Saturday, December 6, 2025, Ghana will play the opener in Canada and the last two games on the USA East Coast.
Ghana’s opening group stage fixture will be played on June 17, 2026, at BMO Field, Toronto.
The games against England and Croatia are set to be hosted at the Boston Stadium and Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, both in the USA.
The BMO Field, first opened in 2007, currently has a capacity of approximately 30,000, but an expansion for the World Cup will shoot that figure up to over 45,000. It’s Canada’s first football-focused stadium, built at a cost of 62.9 million Canadian Dollars.
The stadium was originally built for football in the lead-up to the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. It hosted matches during the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup and 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
It’s an outdoor stadium located at Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and the home ground of MLS side Toronto FC and Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). It also plays home to Canada’s National football team.

Currently, the stadium is managed by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which owns both Toronto FC and the Argonauts; however, it’s owned by the City of Toronto.
The Bank of Montreal, usually known as “BMO,” is the owner of the stadium’s naming rights. It is one of two stadiums in Canada that will host games at the Mundial.
The Boston Stadium, which opened in 2002, is in Foxborough, Massachusetts, USA, with a capacity of 65,000.
In preparation for the 2026 tournament, Boston Stadium, home of the NFL New England Patriots and MLS team New England Revolution, is presently under a significant reconstruction project.
When finished, the site will have 50,000 square feet of glass-enclosed hospitality and function areas, the largest outdoor high-definition stadium video board in the USA (22,000 square feet), 360-degree connection across all levels of the concourses, and more.

Over the years, Boston Stadium has hosted football matches, such as the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2003, Copa America Centenario, Concacaf Gold Cup, and International Champions Cup. It also frequently hosts concerts by well-known performers.
It will host five group stage games, including Ghana versus England, one Round of 32 fixture, and the first quarter-final on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
The Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, was opened on August 3, 2003, and hosted the spectacular friendly between Barcelona and Manchester United. Patrick Kluivert scored the opener, but the Red Devils won 3-1 in what was the stadium’s first-ever ticketed event.
After two years of development that started on May 7, 2001, the stadium opened on August 3, 2003. It replaced Veterans Stadium, which opened in 1971 and hosted the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles through 2002 and 2003, respectively.
Constructed at a cost of US$512 million and boasting a 67,000-plus capacity, the stadium is now home to the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles and the Temple Owls football team at Temple University.
The Lincoln Financial Group purchased the naming rights in June 2002 for $139.6 million, spread over 21 years. Together, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia provided about $188 million in public funds for the stadium’s construction.
The sale of stadium builder’s licenses, which are required to buy season tickets for certain of the stadium’s top seating levels, provided additional revenue for development.
It will host five group-stage matches and a round of 16 game during the eagerly anticipated 48-team tournament.
