The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Salam Mustapha, has called on Ghanaian youth to rise against what he describes as selective justice and abuse of office under the current government.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, September 19, Mr Mustapha accused the John Mahama-led administration and security agencies of targeting members of the NPP through what he termed as politically motivated arrests, physical abuse, and the violation of legal rights — including breaches of the 48-hour rule and the imposition of harsh bail conditions.
He contrasted this with what he described as leniency shown towards individuals affiliated with the NDC, citing incidents where NDC members allegedly threatened or assaulted NPP figures, including a threat against Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin and an alleged assault on NPP’s third Vice Chairman, Alhaji Osman Masawudu, by NDC’s Chief Awudu Sofo Azorka.
“We’re seeing state-sponsored harassment of opposition voices. Our country is being destroyed. The youth of Ghana are no longer safe. They cannot speak. We will not allow a government to turn us into tenants, timid people. That is not the youth of Ghana. We will resist oppressive rule,’ he said
He called on the youth to participate in the September 23 protest, aimed at resisting what he believes is growing tyranny by the current administration.
“That is why, in the voice of defiance, I say to you, all of you, rise and let’s demonstrate on the 23rd, Tuesday, and show our abhorrence to the selectivity, the injustice, the perversion of this government, for all of us, our collective safety, that will build a better society for Ghana.”
