Nine suspects arraigned over violent attack at Darkuman

The Accra Regional Police Command has arraigned nine suspects before the Adabraka District Court in connection with a brutal attack on a man named Mutala Yayaa at Darkuman on September 10, 2025.

The incident, which was recorded and widely circulated on social media, shows the complainant being violently assaulted by a group of men.

The suspects—Bernard Tagoe alias Asa Sese, Nii Eric Martey, Michael Lokko, Felix Adu Mensah, Habib Gusamu, Solomon Assan, Kwame Khalid, Jacob Addy, and Gideon Arthur—are accused of attacking Yayaa with weapons, including a cutlass, axe, and scissors, causing severe wounds to his head and body.

Four other suspects involved remain at large.

All nine accused pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit a crime and causing harm. They have been remanded in police custody and are scheduled to reappear in court on September 29, 2025.

Authorities are actively seeking the arrest of other individuals believed to be involved in the attack, including Yaala, Show, Joseph Gattor, Savess, and John Km, to assist with ongoing investigations.

The Accra Regional Police Command has warned the public against using violence to settle disputes and urged community members to pursue lawful means of resolving conflicts.
