The Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang made her mark as the Reviewing Officer at the 46th Ceremonial Change of Guards at the Jubilee House on Monday December 8, 2025.

This marks a significant moment in her tenure as Ghana’s first female Vice President.
The change of guards ceremony, held every three months, at the Jubilee House symbolises the transfer of responsibility for security at the Presidency.
The event saw the outgoing Ghana Navy guards handing over to a new contingent from the Ghana Air Force.
This is the first time Vice President Prof. Opoku-Agyemang performed the task on behalf of the Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, President John Dramani Mahama, who is on official duties outside the country.
The colourful ceremony showcased the military’s discipline and professionalism.
The event highlighted Vice President Opoku-Agyemang’s commitment to promoting Ghana’s military heritage and national security.
As Chairperson of the Armed Forces Council, she plays a crucial role in advising the President on defense policy and overseeing the military’s organization.
As Reviewing Officer, Professor Opoku-Agyemang witnessed the changing of the guards.
Present were service men and women, students drawn from Christ the King International School, An-Nadwa Islamic School, Leicester International School, Al Hidaaya Educational Complex and St Cecilia School Complex.
The 46th Change of Guard was also witnessed by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, Chief of Defense Staff, Brigadier General William Agyapong, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Policy Advisor at the Office of the Vice President, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and other senior government officials.
