The Management of Ayalolo Transport has warned that it won’t allow unauthorized groups claiming to represent the Accra Metropolitan Assembly to occupy sections of the bus terminal and collect revenue without accounting for it.

Managing Director Dawuda Awudu stated that it’s unacceptable for them to pay maintenance bills while unknown groups continue to collect money at the terminal.
The unauthorized activities at the Ayalolo Kimbu bus terminal started early this year, allegedly linked to a change in government.
Since then, the terminal has been attracting Kayayei and drug addicts who offload goods from Togo there.
This has led to unsanitary conditions, with people sleeping, bathing, and relieving themselves openly.
When Management resisted, some unauthorized collectors attacked workers and drivers.
These brought tension and resulted in a seat down strike rendering passengers stranded.
The drivers warned that they will not work if the unauthorized car operators are not removed from the bus terminal.
Amidst the dispute, the Accra Mayor intervened, which led to a heated argument between workers, city guards, and security officials.
Management intervened and spoke to drivers to resume operations.
Managing Director Dawuda Awudu Esq. stated that they have had enough and will not allow private car parking within the terminal, emphasizing that no contract has been signed and the terminal belongs to Ayalolo Transport.
Operations have resumed at the Ayalolo Kimbu bus terminal, pending a stakeholder meeting to resolve the matter.
